Guarantee Benevolent Scheme (GBS)

The Guarantee Benevolent Scheme (GBS) was set up to provide the following benefits to members against a monthly contribution of Rs20:

(i)        Assistance for medical treatment;

(ii)       Grant on the death of contributor’s spouse; and

(iii)     Grant on death of contributor.

It has been phased out since December 01, 2000 and members could no more join this scheme thereafter.
